Jobfind and uLaunch CEO Karena Newland elected to NESA Board
We are thrilled to announce and extend our congratulations to Karena Newland on her recent election to the National Employment Services Association (NESA) Board.
Since its establishment in 1998, NESA has remained the peak organisation for Australia’s employment services sector. Karena’s induction onto the Board comes as the outcome of a Members Directors’ Election, with the results officially unveiled by NESA CEO Kath Mandla in September 2023.
With over 17 years of Executive Level expertise in Employment Services, encompassing both not-for-profit and commercial domains, Karena has consistently demonstrated her expertise in various operational management capacities. Her career has encompassed roles such as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, along with executive-level responsibilities in People and Culture, and Quality Business Improvement, focusing on Audit and Compliance.
Currently the CEO of Jobfind and uLaunch Australia Karena is a strong leader in supporting and advocating for a diverse range of participants in employment, disability employment, health, education and mental health services.
Most recently she has been the driving force behind the fusion of Joblife and Jobfind Disability Services to become a brand-new organisation named uLaunch. With nearly 40% of uLaunch staff identify as living with a disability, chronic illness or injury there is an unparalleled level of insight, understanding and connection to supporting participants find employment.
In expressing her sentiments about this appointment, Karena remarked, “NESA’s work holds paramount importance in empowering Employment Services providers to offer their best to job seekers and employers. I am deeply honored and excited to serve as a representative for NESA, especially during such a pivotal juncture for our industry.”
