Katherine, Northern Territory, July 2020 – Despite ongoing restrictions being enforced off and on nationwide, and COVID-19 continuing to affect communities big and small, RISE Ventures is thrilled to announce the approval, via the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), of a Soup and Stew Day Activity at Food Ladder on July 24, starting 10AM. Rise Ventures, a leading provider of supportive and professional services around Australia, including the most remote regions of Queensland and the Northern Territory, has always taken pride in servicing Indigenous communities.

The disruptions wrought by COVID-19, whilst suspending some Community Development Activities, has not slowed down the Rise staff. “I am immensely proud of our team on the ground in Katherine,” states Duncan Angus, Founder and CEO of Rise Ventures. “These are exceptional circumstances to deliver and engage with our participants; to ensure welfare and health is maintained. They have worked closely with the Delegate to ensure that this event will be conducted in accordance with advice from health and government authorities. Rise will comply with any and all local restrictions in place… The health and safety of our staff and all those in community is our priority.” The event will be held at Food Ladder, the world’s first not for profit organisation to use environmentally sustainable technologies to create food and economic security for communities otherwise reliant on aid and affected by poverty.

“We are very grateful to be able to use Food Ladder’s facilities to not only ensure correct food safety procedures, but to also allow us to keep social distancing regulations whilst still enabling Rise staff to have a proper conversation and engage with our participants and those in community,” explains Tara Granzien, Rise Katherine’s Business Manager. “This event will help us engage with our most disadvantaged participants. It is so important.”
