The Major of Tamworth officially opened the Tamworth Jobs 22 office as well as launch the Jobs 22 Restart Scheme.
The Restart Scheme is part of the government’s plan for jobs and is helping those who have been on Universal Credit for 12-18 months during the pandemic to help them back into work.
It is providing 12 months of tailored community based support for job seekers who have been long term unemployed. Participants will also receive support to learn new skills, help to overcome barriers, and access to vacancies to assist participants secure employment.

Duncan Angus and Michael Hobday, co-founders of Jobs 22 were in attendance at the opening ceremony. Speakers at the event were: Aaron Henricksen, MD of Jobs 22, Michael Hobday, Chairman of AKG and Jobs 22, Duncan Angus, Founder of AKG, Dan McCormack, Chief Operations Officer at Jobs 22 and Chris Wright, CEO of Catch 22.
The job fair and opening ceremony was a huge success. One person recieved a job offer just by attending the event.
Companies that attended were: DL Cleaning, UPS, Ocado from Siamo, Community Together CIC, National Career Service, Business Connection and Farly & Jones.
Jobs 22 will be offering the Restart Scheme to local residents for the next four years. To be eligible you have to have been on Universal Credit for 12-18 months and be referred by your work coach at your job centre.
